St. Lucia Celebration at American Table

american-table04 Every year on December 13, Swedes celebrate the holiday of Saint Lucia, or as some call it, "Swedish Christmas." It is known as a celebration of light, and begins with a procession headed by one girl wearing a crown of candles, while others in the procession hold a single candle each. This year on December 13, Marcus will be visiting American Table Cafe and Bar in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center to celebrate the holiday.

From 6 pm - 9 pm on December 13, Marcus will be in the cafe carving a complimentary ham for guests and serving traditional gingersnaps. There will be Swedish glögg for sale as well as special small bites in addition to the restaurant's full menu. Marcus will be signing copies of his New York Times bestselling memoir, "Yes, Chef," which will be available for purchase while supplies last.

American Table Cafe and Bar is located at 1941 Broadway at 65th Street. Admission to the event is free, and all are welcome to come celebrate Saint Lucia with Marcus.
