Weekly Dish Recommendation: Vegetarian at Red Rooster
For this week's dish recommendation, I'm recommending an entire vegetarian meal at Red Rooster Harlem. It's easy to have a delicious meat-free meal at the restaurant, and for those of you who abstain from meat, I have crafted a custom meal from our offerings.
Start with the Pickled Beet and Hazelnut Salad. Â Leaves of spicy arugula are topped with pickled beets, Manchego and hazelnuts. Â You could also split the Nuts snack, which would contribute a delicious salty-sweet balance to the meal.
Follow with the Mac and Greens entree. Â Baked in our wood-fired oven, this collard green-studded mac and cheese combines three cheeses: Gouda, New York State Cheddar, and Comte. Â It's a multicultural dish, with cheese from Holland, France, and the States!
Of course, you can't go wrong with a side of Cornbread with honey butter and tomato jam. Â The sweetness from the honey ushers in the last course, which is not to be missed!
All our desserts are vegetarian, and you can't go wrong, but I recommend the Sweet Potato Doughnuts or the Roasted Apple Pie.
