If this week's warm weather is any indication, spring is definitely in the air. We've already set up the patio outside Red Rooster and so many patrons are opting to sit under the sun while sipping some refreshing cocktails.
I love springtime in Harlem and the excitement of last week only added to my good mood. As I mentioned we had the illustrious Roberta Flack grace us with a special performanceÂ at Ginny's Supper Club, and my fellow judge friends from Chopped All-Stars-Aaron Sanchez, Geoffrey Zakarian and Scott Conant-dropped by as well. Friday we had a very special VIP stop in for lunch-none other than President Bill Clinton. It's always an honor to have him at the restaurant and we're so appreciative of his continuing support of us.
And the weather isn't the only thing that's changing around here. In the kitchen at Ginny's we've updated our lobster thermidor to make it a little lighter for spring. The lamb shank is still a favorite of guests and great for sharing if you can't handle it by yourself. And upstairs at the Rooster we've just added a duck salad, a five-spice duck breast served with mixed greens and vinaigrette, topped with crispy fingerling potatoes.
