Top 5 Holiday Events

With so much going on this Holiday season in New York, I thought I'd share my top 5 must-do Holiday events for 2010.

Celebrate Hanukkah at The Jewish Museum on December 5th, at noon.  The Light x Eight event will include "puppet performances, a concert by kid-pop band the Macaroons, an art workshop, and guides to museum exhibitions." The Jewish Museum is located at 1109 Fith Ave., at 92nd St. [NYMag]

On Friday December 10th, the Harlem Tree Lighting will be a great way to enjoy the holidays.  Come at 12pm to see the lighting of the East Harlem Holiday tree on the corner of 106th and Third Avenue. [Harlem One Stop]

In Sweden, the holidays begin with Santa Lucia Day on December 13th.  Celebrate on Saturday, December 11th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Central Park West and 65th Street.  [Swedish Church]

Celebrate the first night of Kwanzaa at the legendary Apollo Theater.  Regeneration Night will be a great event to celebrate the beginning of Kwanzaa and the principles it honors: family, community and culture.  Renowned New York-based dance company Abdel Salaam's Forces of Nature Dance Theatre will perform.  Tickets are available through Apollo Theater. [Apollo Theater]

Enjoy the spirit of the season and all holidays regardless of religion or nationality at the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink.  This is a great activity to enjoy the lights and sights with friends and family on the ice!
