Celebrating the fusion of cultures that are her roots, Rachel Brown's unique "organic pop" sound, defies categorization. With her guitar and ukulele, and her ensemble startlingly talented African musicians, Rachel incorporates modern and ancient instruments to meld pop, Caribbean, Hawaiian, country, hip-hop, and world sounds into a captivating groove.
Industry and peers have recognized her talent. Brown has shared the stage with musical icons that include Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Quincy Jones, and John Legend. She was the 2010 winner of the ASCAP Foundation Robert Allen Award for songwriting, and this June received the Abe Olman Scholarship for Excellence in Songwriting from the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. Graduating with honors from Harvard College in May 2010, she was named one of Harvard's "15 Most Interesting Seniors".
