Last night, Harlem held its 2nd Annual Harlem Street Lighting, where the neighborhood gathers as the holiday street lights are turned on to welcome this joyous time of year. The community came out and celebrated the neighborhood lighting alongside other 125th Street Bid board members and elected officials, including Councilmember Inez Dickens.
The night started off with an inspiring performance by the Impact Repertory Theatre's Youth Ensemble and went on throughout the event with a few performances by the Vy Higginsen Gospel for Teens Ensemble. Following many acknowledgments and performances, the Honorary Committee Memebers and Elected Officials flipped the switch to light up Harlem. This year, 125th Street is illuminated from river to river and the lights can be seen at sunset.
Check out our photos from the event below and be sure to stop by 125th Street in Harlem to see our festive lights!
