As fashion week rapidly approaches, designers are playing with food. In Katy McLaughlin's article "Tasteful Attire: Designers Whip Up a Buffet of Fashion Out of Food," I learned about how fashion and food are starting to intersect. Since Lady Gaga's meat dress, using food as a material for clothes has become more popular. Chocolate dresses, cherry jewelry, and an octopus hat have appeared on runways across the globe. But there are some problems with using food in a fashion context. Models actually find themselves getting hungry during shoots, and foods like chocolate can melt. This exciting new fashion trend shows how food itself can be beautiful.
