Congratulations To The Winners of 2011 James Beard Awards

Congrats to all the James Beard Award nominees and winners last night! It was such a great evening, and it was an to present the award for Rising Star Chef of the Year Award to Gabriel Rucker of Le Pigeon in Portland, Oregon. Even though there was only one winner from each category, each chef and restaurant nominated is an inspiration in the field.

I love how chefs today are crossing boundaries. Gabrielle Hamilton not only penned a fantastic memoir this year, Blood, Bones, & Butter but also took home the award for Best Chef: New York City.

Industry veteran Jean-Georges Vongerichten and his team took home the award for Best New Restaurant for the produce-forward restaurant ABC Kitchen.
