A Note from Marcus

marcus samuelsson, yes chef, marcus garvey park, community Finally, spring is here and we’re excited that our patio is open for the season. It might have been a long and cold winter, but inside at Red Rooster the scene was always warm. Thanks to you, our loyal guests, our Unplugged Mondays featuring Rakiem Walker is one of the best places to be in New York and we’ve been thrilled to feature the musical and dancing talents of our staff.

Welcome to The Roo, our first newsletter that features all the exciting events we’re looking forward to sharing with our restaurant family. We just changed to an all-day menu that features classics like Chicken and Waffles, and added new springtime dishes like Smoked Trout, Fried Green Tomato Salad and Rooster Noodles. With the opening of the Harlem Farmer’s Markets just around the corner, expect to taste our ever-changing list of daily specials to highlight the freshest and tastiest produce available north of 96th Street. Our art program will also get a change this month with a portrait gallery of Rooster regulars shot by famed photographer Pontus Hook.

As always, we want to hear from you. Please share your stories and let me know what’s your favorite spring ingredient on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (@MarcusCooks). Happy Spring!
