The Lyric Theater, also known as the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex, is the oldest legitimate theater in the city of Miami. In 1913, the Lyric theater opened, and quickly became the entertainment hub and social gathering spot for black people in Miami. It was located in what was called “Little Broadway,” of the historic Overtown neighborhood and visitors could see movies and vaudeville shows in an integrated environment. The theater is now a restored performing arts center and museum.

Each year in February, The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival brings chefs, media personalities, and culinary industry professionals together for 5 days of fun events, dinners, parties, and seminars. Come to drink, eat, dance, or watch a demo in Miami at the festival, and make to sure to say hello, as I’m usually there hosting a meal and doing a demo!

South Beach, nicknamed SoBe, is one of the hottest destinations in the country, and I’m not just talking about the weather. With more than 5 beaches to choose from, tourists and locals flock to South Beach all year round to lounge in the sand and play in the ocean. South Beach offers more than just fun in the sun though. There are many historic art deco buildings, shops, museums, clubs, and restaurants to explore as well. Just a warning – it will be hard to leave!
