Did you ever think there would come a day when a company would create a plan to develop a restaurant on the moon? Well if you thought this was never possible think again as Domino's Pizza is ready to make this dream somewhat of a reality.
Domino's Pizza has developed a Moon Branch Project website where a step-by-step plan has been put in place to showcase how they are going to supposedly build a 3-story pizzeria on the surface of the shimmering moon. The crazy thing about this all is that they even put dollar amounts to each step of the plan along with how many rocket ships they would need to transport all the construction materials. IBTimes Staff Reporter in "Domino's Plans to be First Fast Food Chain on Moon" from The Daily Telegraph reported that "the company will require 15 rockets to transport 70 tons of construction materials and pizza-making equipment to the moon." Cutting costs is what the pizza company is all about and therefore they will look towards "maximizing on local resources and minimizing expenditures. Domino's will keep costs down by using mineral deposits on the moon to make the concrete, which is likely to cost around $2.52 billion." Needless to say, there is a whole lot of hype around whether Domino's will be the first pizzeria on the moon. According to Domino's spokesman Tomohide Matsunaga, he anticipates "people living on the moon in the future." This might not seem such a far-fetched idea since NASA is soon planning to put chef in space as well. "Chefs and Astronauts Becoming one".
Even if it is just a gimmick to bring attention to Domino's 50th year anniversary, it is a gimmick that everyone can't seem to stop talking about.
