Republicans Christie and Huckabee Support Michelle Obama's Fight on Obesity

Though there are there are major differences between Democrats and Republicans, Michelle Obama's campaign to fight American obesity, especially in children, is something that both political parties are getting behind.  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, both Republicans, have publicly voiced their support for Michelle Obama's efforts.

Governor Christie cited his own difficult experience in managing his weight and health on CBS show "Face the Nation" and Huckabee, who at one point shed over 100 pounds, discussed similar struggles on Fox's "Fox News Sunday." Both expressed support for Michelle Obama's encouragement and advice about nutrition and exercise to the American public.

Rather than seeking to enact government measures to force Americans into a particular eating pattern, the First Lady has fostered personal and corporate reforms, such as Wal-Mart's campaign to make fresh foods more accessible to their customers.

These personal responses from known Republicans are a step forward in this battle to help Americans develop more healthy lifestyles!
