Remembering 9/11

Although today is a festive time for New York City, we ultimately cannot ignore which date is approaching us. This Sunday marks the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. It's hard to believe that ten years have gone by since the U.S. tragedies of 2001, especially since a lot of us remember that date as if it were just yesterday.

For me, September 11, 2001 was unreal since I was in Australia when the attacks occurred. But what was more unreal was the fact that I was just cooking at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center just one week prior to that. Check out my feature in Food Republic, as I recall what was going through my mind on that date. Food Republic is also featuring other chefs and their thoughts on the impact of 9/11 in their "9/11 Remembered" series.
