Happy Birthday Mr. President!

As you all know, this Thursday, August 4th will be President Barack Obama's 50th birthday. With that in mind, I personally wanted to wish President Obama a very "Happy Birthday!" Although we're still not quite sure how the President of the Free World will celebrate his milestone birthday, I do have a few suggestions on what would be a great birthday dinner for this celebration. So take these ideas as my birthday gift to you, Mr. President, and I hope you have many, many more birthdays to come!

Whether you decide to have a nice meal with your loved ones or even cook the meal yourself with your beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha, these would be great options for your birthday menu:

Appetizer:

Cornbread: I served President Obama our famous cornbread in his recent visit to Red Rooster. President Obama loves comfort food so this would be a great way to start the meal!

Salad:

A nice fresh salad from First Lady Obama's garden: The country is abuzz with Michelle Obama's efforts to bring healthier produce to our markets and we're all aware of her White House garden, so why not enjoy a salad freshly picked from her garden?! I would recommend a light and refreshing Tomato and Watermelon Salad topped with fresh Basil and Mozzarella Cheese.

Entree:

Knowing President Obama likes good meat main dish, a nicely cooked Steak would be the best fit for this.  With some traditional Collard Greens and a nice Corn Succotash as the side dishes, this entree would be a crowd pleaser!

Dessert:

While keeping summer in mind, a great dessert could be a freshly made Strawberry Pie with Whipped Cream and Fresh Strawberries as a topping.

I hope you enjoy your birthday, Mr. President and I look forward to cooking for you once again!
