Delicious Blackened Bluefish Sandwich

Weekly Dish Recommendation: Blackened Bluefish Sandwich at Momofuku Ssam Bar (New York City)

When I typically think of blackened fish, my mind tends to associate the concept with the South, particularly the New Orleans area.  However, one of the best po' boy-style sandwiches can be found at David Chang's Momofuku Ssam Bar.  The hefty brioche roll is lightly covered with a tartar sauce and then stuffed with iceberg lettuce; moist, flaky bluefish that marinated in miso; and Cajun-style potato crisps.  The flavors all mesh perfectly to create a bold sandwich that will tantalize your senses.  I am by no means discounting the steamed pork buns, apple kimchi, or other more Asian-style dishes from the Korean chef, but he really proves his multi-cultural talent with the imaginative composition of this tangy creation.
